A: When you rent, you are not locked into any time frame or dollar amount. You keep the equipment as long as you need it and pay only for the time you've had the equipment out for use. When you lease, you commit to an extended period of time and a set fee. Renting is the cheaper alternative! You only pay for what you use!
Find out why most large Private Contractors/Fleet Managers are shifting their focus away from fleet ownership & more toward Fleet Rental:

A: Training begins with safety, and United Rentals is the only national rental company authorized by the National Safety Council to train and certify clients (Ives). Our Safety Program received the National Safety Council's coveted Chairman's Award. Our safety & training program includes:
Instructions on the safe and proper use of the equipment are provided with every rental.
Relevant safety handouts are printed with each rental contract.
Safety gear (fall protection, reflective vests, safety glasses, etc.) is always available for purchase.
We offer certification to your employees in accordance with OSHA regulations. Contact the Government Customer Service Center for more details!
A: We do not provide operators with our equipment. We can provide extensive training so your workers can learn how to use the equipment. However, in emergency situations we can recommend operators when needed.
Q: What is United Rental's billing cycle? How is pricing calculated?
A: United Rentals bills on a 28-day cycle. We charge only based on the time you use our equipment and for how long you keep it. Daily (based on an 8-hour day), weekly (based on a 40-hour week) and monthly (based on a 160-hour month) rates are available. Pricing is calculated not only by the amount of time you keep the equipment, but also by the number of hours you use the equipment. The great thing about our rates is that the longer you keep the equipment, the cheaper the rate becomes.

Q: What forms of payment does United Rentals accept?
A: We accept just about every form of payment: cash, check, credit card, Government Purchasing Card, Government Account, SmartPay, IMPAC Card, and Electronic Funds Transfer.
A: Since rental charges typically fall under MRO, it doesn't affect your Capital Expenditure! That's the best part about renting. There's no need to plan in advance when you rent, which is just another reason why renting is better than buying or leasing!
